The City has finished its yearly inspection of trees that overhang any street and/or sidewalk. City Code states that “trees shall be kept trimmed to a clearance height of fourteen (14) feet for branches overhanging a street and eight (8) feet for branches overhanging a sidewalk.”  It is the homeowners’ responsibility to trim the trees and dispose of the branches.

To assist homeowners with the disposal of branches, the City will have free branch drop-off days on Saturday, July 27th, Saturday, August 3rd and Saturday, August 10th at the Huxley Public Works facility at 601 Oak Blvd., from 8 – 12 noon. Residents may also drop off branches any time between 8 am and 5 pm the week of July 23-August 2nd.

Trees must be trimmed by August 9th, 2019  If they are not done by this date, the City will trim the trees and the resident will be charged a fee.
