It is important for the City of Huxley to protect the health and safety of its citizens and employees during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The following operational changes are reflective of the suggested guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Public Buildings and Facilities
The city’s administration offices are closed until further notice. All residents, contractors and others are encouraged to do business with the City via phone, email or get information from the city’s website. The entrance of City Hall serves as a drop zone for business that cannot be completed online or via phone. The lobby is not staffed.
Parks and Recreation
Playground equipment and community centers are closed. All park restrooms are closed and water fountains are turned off. Parks and trails are open with restrictions. Social distancing is required. Avoid groups of people/crowded areas.
The 3C’s facility is open Monday through Friday 7 am to 7 pm, Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 12 noon. Members must sign in/out at front desk. Must be 14 or older to be in facility without direct supervision by an adult.
Library is open Monday, Tuesday & Friday 9 am to 5 pm, Wednesday & Thursday 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday 9 am to 12 noon. No one under age of 14 is allowed unaccompanied by an adult. Computer use limited to 30 minutes. Please return books through outside drop box. Curbside delivery is still available.
