Election day is November 5, 2019. Due to a legislative change, the election will combine city and school elections. Polling location for Huxley residents will be the Safe Room, 515 N. Main Avenue (between City Hall and Police Department). Polling times will be from 7 am to 8 pm. On the city side of the election residents will need to vote for mayor and two council member seats. Mayor serves a two year term, while the council seats are four year terms.
All candidates must complete and submit an Affidavit of Candidacy with their nomination papers. This affidavit is a written form that includes the office being sought and the candidate’s signature witnessed by a notary public. All documents can be picked up at City Hall. Notary public’s are also available at City Hall. All nomination papers must be submitted to the City Clerk at City Hall no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 19th.
